An impressive chest of rectangular form. The exterior is covered in high relief carvings of clouds with diaper patterned boards. The removable front panel has jade aplique of five claw dragon and phenix around a central ‘Xi’ (double happiness) symbol that when removed reveals 10 drawers of varying sizes with double fish handles. Additional jade dragons and phoenixes are on the front of the hinged cover that lifts revealing a small storage compartment. Raised on a carved ogee bracket plinth.
